Dr. Alexander Cole, Senior Veterinarian
Dr. Alexander Cole received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and currently serves as a senior veterinarian at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Dr. Cole’s desire to one day become a veterinarian began in his early years. Growing up, he devoted most of his time to raising various animals through his involvement with the 4-H Youth Development Organization. When he wasn’t caring for animals, he was reading about them, and it was after reading James Herriot’s series All Creatures Great and Small that he knew that he would only be happy in one career. Dr. Cole has more than 15 years of experience working in the field with species ranging from companion animals to exotics, and in work environments spanning from performing clinical practice with an emphasis on reproductive research in zoological settings to laboratory animal work with an emphasis on surgery. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians. Aside from his passion for animals, Dr. Cole admits to having a thing for old Jeeps and Louisiana State University (LSU) football.
