Have you ever made lunch for a elephant?
Have you ever seen an ultrasound on a sloth? I hadn’t until I started working in and around Busch Gardens' newest attraction the Animal Care Center. Within this 16,000 sq ft facility you will be able to experience educational nutrition shows, learn about animal care and enjoy an interactive diagnostic activity.
Animal Nutrition Shows
I love to watch my favorite cooking shows on TV to learn new recipes from different cuisines, but the shows you will see here at the Animal Care Center cater to a different audience… those with fur, scales and feathers. These shows are all about making healthy nutritionally balanced diets for our 2,000 animals at Busch Gardens. So you can come down and help prepare diets for animals such as kangaroos, hyena and hippopotami.
Animal Treatment Rooms
The Animal Care Center will offer a unique glance on actual animal treatment. Only at Busch Gardens will you see veterinary care first hand.

Whether from annual animal physicals to the accidental foot sprain, you will be able to see our veterinary team doing what they do best: taking care of our animals.
Diagnostic Activity
Using state of the art technology you will be able to explore step by step how we identify, treat and cure our animals. By choosing a flamingo, cheetah, giraffe or aldabra tortoise you will be able to follow thru the steps on how we at Busch Gardens takes care of our animals.

From diagnosis to pathology you will see all steps taken to ensure all of our animals get the best healthcare. You can also take these cards home and interact with them using a Smartphone, where they will send you to our Animal Care Center Blog where you can read updates on what going on at the Animal Care Center.
There is so much to explore here at the Animal Care Center, so when you plan your next visit to Busch Gardens, be sure to make a visit to this amazing new facility.
