This January I began working in the Cheetah Hunt Area of the park, and boy was I excited! It was, and still is, a true learning experience. I learned about all the ride’s safety systems, the extensive and sensitive maintenance it required on a daily basis, and even all the brand new technology that Intamin, the ride manufacturer, showcased on our ride; the use of repelling magnets as the main propulsion method.

Park Invited Students to Step Out of the Classroom and Gain Experience While Getting a Glimpse of Cheetah Hunt and Cheetah Run

Busch Gardens Tampa gave high school journalism students the chance to experience a day in the life of the press on Friday, March 25 as they got a first look at the park’s new roller coaster, cheetah exhibit and entertainment.

It was nearly a year ago that Busch Gardens Park President Jim Dean donned a hard hat and stood on a pile of dirt to record a YouTube video teasing the park’s new attraction.

Today, Dean had the opportunity to ride Cheetah Hunt for the first time with Busch Gardens’ VP of Marketing, Gerard Hoeppner. Following their front-row ride, Dean commented “We have another winner here.”

You and a guest can be one of the first to ride Busch Gardens’ brand new triple launch coaster, Cheetah Hunt, during an exclusive ride time for winners from 8 p.m. to midnight – after park hours – on May 27, 2011, the attraction’s opening day.
