The Busch Gardens Zoo Team Invites you to a Hyena Birthday Party!

The lion holds the title of the “King of the Forest,” and has long roamed the land with an air of strength and pride. Yet today’s growing world is shrinking the animal’s domain and leading these beasts into conflict with humans.

This, combined with farming and trophy hunting, has created a need to study these proud animals and enact measures to protect their way of life.

Our two female lionesses Iris and Rose just celebrated their fifth birthdays last weekend and WOW did we throw a party!

This Sunday, August 14 at 11 a.m., the Edge of Africa will be celebrating the 5th birthday of Lioness sisters, Iris and Rose.

Busch Gardens animal keepers have been working hard planning a lot of fun for the lioness birthday party, making different types of enrichment and birthday presents to give to them on their special day.
