Busch Gardens Tampa recently welcomed three lion cubs to the park, one male and two unrelated females. After a weeklong poll, 6,000 Busch Gardens Tampa Facebook fans voted to name the two lion cub sisters. The winning names for the three-month-old cubs are Shaba, meaning “brazen”, and Shtuko, meaning “twitch”.

Bowling for Rhinos is a yearly Bowl-a-thon that celebrates Rhinos and supports them in their natural environments all over the world. This year Tampa Bay AAZK (our local AAZK chapter - American Association of Zoo Keepers) held the 24th Annual Bowling for Rhinos on Friday, May 31st.

These two female lion cubs arrived at Busch Gardens from South Africa May 18. As of yet, they are unnamed and Busch Gardens is inviting their Facebook Fans to name these babies. Yesterday, the two made an appearance on the TODAY Show.

While Busch Gardens offers many different camp programs for campers of all ages, there are only two opportunities left for our older campers to take truly WILD road trips. Busch Gardens’ travel camps are only for campers entering 9^thgrade through college.

At eight weeks old, our Malayan tiger cubs are getting spunky! They have been spending more time each day outside, and they follow their mom Bzui wherever she goes. Not only do the cubs chase mom’s paws and tail, but they also wrestle with one another!
