Last Friday, 11 year old Luke Ralston won the first Summer Nights Dance Challenge of 2011. He has had quite a bit of practice as he and his father have been coming to Summer Nights for the past three years and have participated in the dance contest nearly every weekend.
The audience selected Luke as the winner via their overwhelming applause. This is the first time in three years of trying that Luke has won. As a prize, he received a four Busch Gardens day passes and a spotlight dance on the Desert Grill stage.
The Summer Nights Dance Challenge will continue at 7:00 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night in the Desert Grill through August 13th. The first two rounds of competition are to popular line dances and the third round is a freestyle round to contemporary music.
To select participants for the Dance Challenges every Friday and Saturday, the Party Starters will host dance challenges all day throughout the park and pick the most outgoing guests with the best dance moves to compete. Guests can find the Party Starters at all three of the DJ locations in Jungala, Stanleyville and Gwazi Plaza every night starting at 5:00 p.m.
