Hello! I am a Senior Animal Care Specialist at Busch Gardens Tampa. I consider myself one of those rare people who can truly say she loves her job. That is because I get to spend my days working with the 13 cheetahs that call the park home.
Born with a passion for animals in Houston, Texas, I got my start as a zookeeper ten years ago at the Houston Zoo. I trained in the Children’s Zoo and my career blossomed from there. I consider myself lucky to have been able to work with many different types of animals such as alligators, bats, eagles and tigers! I joined the Busch Gardens team three years ago in the Edge of Africa section. There I took care of lions, hyenas and hippos but it is the cheetahs that have captured my heart. The most rewarding part of my job is being able to connect people with the cheetahs and share them with guests. Whether it is during one of the regularly scheduled presentations out at Cheetah Run, or giving folks a behind the scenes look, up close and personal, during the Endangered Species Tour. I can always find time to share my love of these cats with anyone who cares to listen. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences at Busch Gardens, and especially my recent trip to Africa on the blog.
