Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Welcomes Baby Gorilla

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is excited to announce the newest member of the gorilla troop in the Myombe Reserve habitat. “Oliver”, a male endangered western lowland gorilla, was born on Aug. 18 and is being cared for by 28-year-old mother, Mary, who came to Busch Gardens in February 2010 from Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas. The sire is 10-year-old Bolingo, who was born at Busch Gardens in 2005.

World Rhino Day has become an international event that honors all five species of rhinoceros and educates the public about their current plight in Africa and Asia. Its main goal is to spread awareness about the current status of the five rhino species, and help end poaching by debunking myths about their horns.
