"Off" Season...Not So Different From "On" Season

One of the questions I get the most is, “What do you do when the park is closed?”  Well, we are here taking care of the animals 365 days a year, so the park being closed doesn’t change our work schedule very much.  We simply have more time to train new behaviors, train new people, and strengthen our relationships with the animals.  For example, today, while the park is closed, we are busy working on several behaviors for the upcoming Jack Hanna show.

There is only one day left before the gardens turn dark. And as our dedicated entertainment team races to finish the park’s massive thematic overhaul, haunted houses are being tested for final audio and lighting levels, the show casts are rehearsing and culinary and merchandise locations are transforming to complete this year’s Howl-O-Scream experience. It seems that each year we expand the park’s thematic package and this year is no exception.
